Operate heavy equipment safely at MJSB’s Waste Site while processing materials and delivering high-quality customer service. This position is based in Nova Scotia’s Lunenburg Region.
The Heavy Equipment Operator works with facility staff to process and load incoming and outgoing materials. The role supports site maintenance and assigned tasks under Waste Site management. Strong safety awareness, verbal communication, and equipment-control skills are central to the work.
Key Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently at the Waste Site
Process incoming and outgoing materials in a timely manner
Load materials safely alongside facility team members
Provide high-quality customer service to Waste Site users




Complete regular site maintenance and clean equipment
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
Heavy Equipment Operator training and assigned-equipment certifications
WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certifications provided on the job
Ability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Bring protected equipment operation, material handling, and customer service skills to MJSB’s Waste Site in the Lunenburg Region.
