Keep School District No. 60 facilities clean and secure as a casual Custodian, using commercial cleaning and minor maintenance skills as needed.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working with site Administrative Officers, you will support facility cleaning and upkeep. The Head Custodian oversees daily work, including evening user-group needs. The position requires organized, independent work across school facilities and related areas.
Key Responsibilities: Clean and disinfect interiors, fixtures, windows, floors, and landings
Remove garbage, sweep, vacuum, and wet-mop floors
Secure doors and windows within assigned areas
Perform minor maintenance on doors, lamps, furniture, and fixtures
Maintain tools, equipment, and protected worksite conditions
Requirements: Grade 10 or equivalent education
Preferred minimum one year commercial or school cleaning experience
Ability to operate auto scrubbers and window-cleaning equipment
Ability to read instructions and safety bulletins
WHMIS and required safety training completed within probationary period
Apply custodial cleaning, equipment operation, and safety skills while supporting School District No. 60 facilities on an as-needed basis.
