We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable welcoming people and working carefully with financial details. As our Business Office Coordinator, you’ll often be the first person students, families, and guests meet at Columbia Bible College. You’ll also play an important role in ensuring student accounts, payments, textbook sales, and other Business Office activities are handled accurately and with care.
This is a varied position that combines reception and hospitality with accounts receivable, student account processing, textbook store operations, business systems administration, and support for the Finance/Business Office team. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys serving people, organizing details, and developing a broad range of administrative and financial skills.
What you bring:
A heart for Christian higher education and a desire to serve students and the wider CBC community.
A warm, welcoming approach and the ability to provide clear, respectful service—even when communicating policies or resolving account questions.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy with numbers, and comfort reconciling financial information.
Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or a related field, completed or in progress.
At least one year of experience in a customer-facing, administrative, retail, or bookkeeping role.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
The ability to move between an interruption-driven front desk environment and concentration-focused financial work without losing accuracy.
Experience with accounting software, student information systems, point-of-sale systems, retail inventory, purchasing, or post-secondary administration is considered an asset.
What we offer:
Meaningful, purpose-driven work that directly supports CBC’s students, employees, guests, and mission.
Unusual breadth of experience across accounts receivable, student accounts, reception, retail operations, and business systems administration.
Mentorship from the Accounting Supervisor and Chief Financial Officer, with opportunities to develop your skills in accounting, business administration, and operations.
A supportive Christian community where you’ll work alongside colleagues who share a commitment to faith, service, and excellence.
Access to campus amenities, including gym facilities, the library, and cafeteria discounts.
This is a full time, on‑site position in Abbotsford, BC, with an annual salary of $55,000. The initial term runs through April 30, 2027, with the potential to continue as an ongoing position.
This position is available immediately.
