Support resident dining at Newmarket Health Centre as a temporary part time Food Service Worker handling food preparation and meal service. Work 14 scheduled weekly hours during operational shifts.
Reporting to the Manager, Production and Support Services, this replacement assignment lasts approximately seven months. You will assist with food preparation, delivery, collection, and cleanup while following Ministry of Health Long Term Care Standards. The work supports residents, facility production requirements, related functions, and outreach programs.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with preparing large quantities of food
Set dining tables for residents' meals
Deliver trays to meal-serving areas
Portion and serve food to residents
Collect dishes, utensils, and trays for cleanup
Requirements: Complete two years of secondary school or equivalent
Hold or pursue a Food Service Worker Certificate
Complete an approved Food Safety Course
Have one year's dietary healthcare facility experience
Provide required PVSC, tuberculosis screening, and immunization proof
Bring dietary service experience, food safety knowledge, and resident-focused meal support to York Region's Newmarket Health Centre.
