The Security Guard supports STEGH’s Security team in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include preventative patrols, alarm monitoring, investigations, report writing, and emergency response. The position assists clinical teams with potentially aggressive patients and supports Human Resources with employee-related needs. Collaboration with security and switchboard dispatchers is required.
Key Responsibilities: Provide a safe setting for patients, staff, and visitors
Conduct preventative patrols and monitor alarms
Respond to emergencies and investigate security incidents




Assist clinical teams during potentially aggressive patient situations
Write detailed reports and support dispatchers as required
Requirements: Valid Ontario Security Guard license required
Post-secondary diploma in law, security, police, or protection studies
Basic Life Support certification required
Non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation skills
Knowledge of legislation, Mental Health Act, and Fire Code
Bring crisis response, investigation, and communication skills to STEGH’s hospital security team while supporting patient and staff safety.
