St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton welcomes eligible nursing students to its Enhanced Extern Program. You will develop competencies, gain patient care experience, and prepare for a future registered role. Work includes day, evening, night, and weekend shifts based on availability and unit needs.
Key Responsibilities: Assist patients with feeding, toileting, bathing, and dressing
Support mobility, positioning, transfers, and ambulation
Take vital signs, height, and weight measurements
Report patient status changes and safety concerns
Document care and notify supervising healthcare professionals
Requirements: Enrollment in an eligible nursing program
Current Basic Life Support certificate
Evidence of valuable academic standing
Successful recent clinical placement learning experiences
Ability to work required twelve-hour shifts
