This Underwriting Manager oversees six to ten underwriters across associate through specialist levels. You will manage mid-market construction and contracting accounts while guiding evaluation, selection, negotiation, pricing, and documentation. Reporting to a Director, you will support retention, profitable growth, technical decisions, and operational change.
Key Responsibilities: Coach, mentor, and develop underwriters across varied experience levels
Manage performance, development planning, and career growth
Oversee full-cycle underwriting of mid-market accounts




Drive retention and profitable portfolio growth
Maintain broker relationships through meetings and responsive communication
Requirements: Two or more years leading underwriters
Construction and contracting underwriting experience
Commercial property and CGL technical depth
Solid broker relationship and service skills
CIP, FCIP, or equivalent designation completed or in progress
Apply commercial package expertise, people leadership, and broker relationship skills to construction underwriting in downtown Toronto.
