Raise is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a client expanding its Power Unit team. You will support large capital projects, studies, and investigations involving hydroelectric equipment. The work requires rotating machinery expertise, technical leadership, and solid stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities: Lead turbine, generator, and governor capital projects
Develop mechanical design requirements for generating units
Prepare specifications and evaluate manufacturer proposals
Support construction and commissioning activities at project sites
Coach engineers and develop engineering standards
Requirements: At least eight years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
Hands-on hydroelectric generating-unit experience
Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, IEEE, IEC, and CCH standards
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
P.Eng registration with EGBC when hired
Bring rotating machinery expertise, technical leadership, and hydroelectric equipment knowledge to complex generating-station projects in Burnaby.
