Government of Alberta GOAPRDJP00001023 Full Stack Developer I 3 years I GOA -Remote Location: Alberta - Remote Pay rate: 95-100/hr incorp 15 new positions Project Overview The Province is expanding the Government of Alberta’s (GoA) digital delivery of services to improve efficiency, innovation, modernization, and the experience of Albertans.

The Digital Design and Delivery Division (3D) is the Province’s centre for digital delivery. 3D works with GoA ministries to deliver modern digital services using human-centred design, Agile methodologies, modern data practices, and established standards and controls.

The Province requires up to fifteen (15) Full Stack Developers to support 3D service innovation, program review, and digital transformation initiatives across the GoA.

Full Stack Developers will work within cross-functional product and program teams led by GoA Product Owners and 3D.

Responsibilities may include technical discovery, software design and development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Digital transformation initiatives will assess existing services, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver new or enhanced digital services that are efficient, effective, accessible, and affordable.

Scope of Services 1.

Discovery and Analysis Participate in technical discovery, field research, user interviews, and related activities.

Assess existing systems, technical dependencies, constraints, and opportunities.

Develop technical artifacts, including diagrams, assessments, recommendations, and documentation. 2.

Solution Design and Development Develop solution designs based on discovery findings and project requirements.

Design, develop, test, and maintain digital solutions and features.

Identify and resolve functional and non-functional defects.

Apply secure, scalable, maintainable, and reusable development practices.

Improve code quality, tooling, documentation, and technical practices. 3.

Design and Collaboration Collaborate with Product Owners, UX designers, service designers, frontend designers, and other team members.

Translate user and business requirements into functional digital solutions.





Provide technical advice on feasibility, architecture, dependencies, risks, and implementation options. 4.

Deployment and Support Support testing, deployment, release, and launch activities.

Support limited-availability, pilot, and general-availability releases.

Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and post-release issues. 5.

Reusable Capabilities Identify opportunities to reuse existing services, components, patterns, and capabilities.

Contribute to reusable components, services, libraries, and other common technical capabilities. 6.

Knowledge Transfer and Continuous Improvement Support onboarding of technical team members.

Maintain technical documentation.

Contribute to improvements in development, testing, deployment, and quality practices.

Share technical knowledge and support adoption of team standards and processes.

The Province and Contractor may adjust the Services and Materials as project requirements evolve.

Changes will be documented through applicable project artifacts and delivery processes.

Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered where permitted by the Province.

Mandatory: Yes Mandatory Work Experience Requirement Minimum Experience Experience using source control, particularly Git, in collaborative software development environments. 5 years Experience with automated unit and integration testing. 3 years Experience with database technologies, including relational and alternative database technologies. 3 years Experience working as a Full Stack Developer on complex software solutions within an Agile team environment. 5 years Experience developing and supporting production applications using up-to-date application frameworks and frontend Java

Script frameworks. 3 years Nice-to-Have Qualifications Requirement Minimum Experience Experience incrementally transforming legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases. 2 years Experience leveraging generative AI and agentic tooling for drafting, analysis, structured retrieval, workflow automation, and other business outputs, including prompt design, RAG, and critical evaluation of AI-generated content for accuracy, risk, hallucination, and sensitivity. 1 year Experience with one or more of the following: Frontend: Angular, React, Vue.js; Backend: C#/.NET Core, Node.js (NestJS, Express), Python (Django). 2 years Experience applying software design patterns and architectural principles. 2 years Experience working with Government of Alberta development guidelines, standards, and principles. 2 years Experience designing, implementing, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines. 2 years Experience working with teams that use UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centred design approaches. 2 years
