Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with a client looking to add a Property Accountant to their growing Finance team. This is a full-time/permanent position on site.

Responsibilities:

- Manage full-cycle accounting for a diverse portfolio of commercial properties.
- Perform month-end close activities, including reviewing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and amortization schedules.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations, including investigating, following up on, and resolving outstanding items.
- Maintain and monitor the general ledger and chart of accounts to ensure accurate classification of transactions.
- Partner closely with property management teams to address inquiries and resolve day-to-day accounting issues, including unpaid rent matters.
- Prepare and file all property HST remittances in an accurate and timely manner.
- Support the annual budgeting process, including preparing and distributing rental statements for the upcoming year.




- Complete year-end operating cost reconciliations.
- Ensure new rental notices are issued to tenants in accordance with the upcoming year's operating budget.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to internal stakeholders, tenants, and other external parties as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on accounting matters, offering guidance and responding to questions.
- Assist with additional accounting duties and special projects as required.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

- -3+ years of combined accounting and financial experience in a similar role.
- -Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting.
- -Demonstrated experience with full accounting cycle.
- -Experience in property management/Real estate is an asset.
- -Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- -Experience with Yardi an asset.
- -Ability to see the big picture while also being able to dive into the details.
- -Strong ability to take ownership and accountability within the role.
- -A robust work ethic, enthusiastic and positive attitude
- -Efficient and effective communication, in a professional manner, with the team and tenants
