Technical Buyer

SUMMARY

Support the Purchasing, Production, and Quality Control Departments by sourcing and managing components with precision and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchasing / Component Management

· Analyze and clarify incoming BOMs and drawings; identify suitable alternative or multiple sourcing options.

· Source and procure components, ensuring accuracy, quality, and cost efficiency.

· Maintain and develop the library of components, drawings, and BOMs.

· Support cost estimation by extracting and validating required components from client documentation.

· Collaborate with suppliers to resolve non-conformances and process RMA (Return Material Authorization) cases when necessary.

· Prepare and maintain inspection reports and non-conformance reports.

Technical / Production Support

· Review and verify manufacturing drawings.

· Support the production team in ensuring quality standards are met throughout all stages (prototype, first-off, in-process, and final inspections).

· Assist in the design of jigs and test fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency.

· Prepare and update assembly and inspection procedures.

· Immediately report and follow up on all non-conformances.

· Support and maintain manufacturing equipment, quality control instruments, and test jigs.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

· Participate in the development and standardization of products and internal processes.

· Contribute to the continuous improvement of Cablek’s ISO procedures and documentation.

· Write technical reports for internal use, suppliers, or customers as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, sourcing, and verification.

· Experience with MIL-Spec or aerospace/military-grade components is a robust asset.

· Knowledge of connectors, contacts, and various terminal types (Fast-on, spade, ring, etc.).

· Knowledge of hook-up wire and multi-conductor cables.

· Knowledge of resistors, LEDs, and other discrete components.

· Ability to read and interpret client drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.





· Proficiency in coordinating technical literature and spec sheet requests from clients.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally between departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Diploma or degree in Electronics, Supply Chain, or a related field.

· 1-2+ years of experience in purchasing, component management, or electronics manufacturing.

· Familiarity with ISO-certified or controlled goods environments is an asset.

SOMMAIRE

Soutenir les départements Achats, Production et Contrôle de la qualité en effectuant l’approvisionnement et la gestion des composants avec précision et expertise technique. Le candidat idéal démontrera une grande attention aux détails, la capacité d’interpréter la documentation technique et, idéalement, une expérience avec les pièces et composants conformes aux normes MIL-Spec.

RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES

Achat / Gestion des composants

· Analyser et clarifier les listes de matériaux (BOM) et dessins reçus; identifier des options de remplacement ou des sources multiples appropriées.

· Rechercher et acheter les composants requis, en assurant leur exactitude, leur qualité et leur rentabilité.

· Maintenir et développer la bibliothèque de composants, dessins et BOM.

· Soutenir l’estimation des coûts en extrayant et en validant les composants nécessaires à partir de la documentation du client.

· Collaborer avec les fournisseurs pour résoudre les non-conformités et traiter les RMA (autorisations de retour de matériel) lorsque nécessaire.

· Préparer et tenir à jour les rapports d’inspection et de non-conformité.

Soutien technique / Production

· Vérifier et valider les dessins de fabrication.

· Soutenir l’équipe de production afin d’assurer le respect des normes de qualité à toutes les étapes (prototype,



première pièce, en cours et inspection finale).

· Participer à la conception de gabarits et de bancs d’essai afin d’améliorer l’efficacité de la production.

· Préparer et mettre à jour les procédures d’assemblage et d’inspection.

· Signaler immédiatement toute non-conformité et assurer le suivi jusqu’à la résolution.

· Soutenir et entretenir les équipements de fabrication, instruments de contrôle qualité et bancs d’essai.

Qualité et amélioration continue

· Participer au développement et à la standardisation des produits et des processus internes.

· Contribuer à l’amélioration continue des procédures ISO de Cablek et de la documentation.

· Rédiger des rapports techniques destinés à un usage interne, aux fournisseurs ou aux clients selon les besoins.

CONNAISSANCES ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES

· Grande attention aux détails et rigueur dans la documentation, l’approvisionnement et la vérification.

· Expérience avec les composants MIL-Spec ou de qualité aérospatiale/militaire (atout important).

· Connaissance des connecteurs, contacts et divers types de bornes (Fast-on, fourche, anneau, etc.).

· Connaissance des fils de raccordement et des câbles multiconducteurs.

· Connaissance des résistances, DEL et autres composants discrets.

· Capacité à lire et interpréter les dessins clients, BOM et spécifications techniques.

· Compétence dans la coordination de la documentation technique et des fiches techniques demandées par les clients.

· Excellentes habiletés de communication et aptitude à travailler en collaboration entre plusieurs départements.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Diplôme ou formation en électronique, chaîne d’approvisionnement ou domaine connexe.

· 2 ans ou plus d’expérience en approvisionnement, gestion de composants ou fabrication électronique.

· Connaissance d’environnements certifiés ISO ou biens contrôlés (atout).
