Job Summary

We are recruiting for a direct hire Accounts Payable Specialist, Construction opportunity in North York, ON. This mid-level role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong full-cycle accounts payable experience, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to take ownership of vendor invoice processing, payment runs, compliance documentation, and supplier communication.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller, project teams, and external suppliers, contributing to smooth financial operations and timely project cost management.

Key Responsibilities





- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice receipt, verification, coding, approval follow-up, processing, and payment preparation.
- Review invoices against purchase orders, contracts, supporting documents, and project cost codes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain subcontractor and vendor compliance documentation, including WSIB, insurance, and statutory declarations.
- Prepare weekly payment runs, including EFTs, cheques, and other disbursements, ensuring proper approvals and accurate processing.
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate AP aging reports, and respond professionally to vendor inquiries.
- Support the Controller, project managers, AR team, and accounting department with documentation, reporting, filing, and ad-hoc accounting tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $50,000 to $65,000 per year.
