Rafat General Contractor Inc. is hiring an experienced Site Services Foreman to lead sewer and watermain crews, primarily on road construction and reconstruction projects.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands underground servicing, plans ahead, and keeps crews working safely and efficiently. You will take ownership of daily site operations, workmanship, and production while coordinating with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager.

Direct sewer and watermain experience is essential. General construction supervision alone is not sufficient for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the crew: Supervise operators, pipe layers, and labourers installing sanitary sewers, storm sewers, watermains, service connections, maintenance holes, catch basins, valves, and hydrants.
- Plan daily operations: Organize work assignments, equipment, materials, deliveries, and trucking to meet project schedules and production targets.
- Maintain installation quality: Read civil drawings, profiles, and specifications; verify pipe alignment, grades, elevations, bedding, backfill, and compaction.
- Manage site conditions: Coordinate utility locates and protection of existing services, excavation, trench protection, and dewatering in accordance with approved procedures.
- Coordinate the work:



Work with the Superintendent, Project Manager, surveyors, inspectors, and subcontractors on roadwork staging, inspections, testing, and service tie-ins.
- Lead safety and accountability: Conduct daily safety talks, enforce safe work practices, address hazards promptly, and maintain an organized site that protects workers and the public.
- Keep accurate records: Report crew hours, equipment usage, installed quantities, material requirements, delays, and site issues.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a foreman leading sewer and watermain installation crews, preferably on road construction or reconstruction projects.
- Strong practical knowledge of underground servicing, excavation, trench protection, pipe installation, and backfilling.
- Ability to interpret civil drawings and specifications and work confidently with pipe lasers, levels, grades, and elevations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, resolve site problems, and maintain crew productivity without compromising safety or quality.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.
