ABOUT THE ROLE

Aspen Heights Retirement Residence is seeking a Cook to join our team.

In this role, you will prepare meals according to established menus and ensure food is appetizing in taste and appearance. You will help provide a pleasant dining experience while respecting residents’ needs and preferences.

This position provides temporary full-time hours of 75 hours bi-weekly until November 16, 2026, covering a maternity leave. Following this coverage, the position returns to permanent part-time at 0.7 FTE, with 52.5 hours bi-weekly.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and instructions.
- Ensure meals are prepared properly and presented attractively.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and appropriately.
- Follow food handling, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness procedures.
- Work cooperatively with the dietary team to provide timely meal service.
- Treat residents with empathy, dignity, and respect.

Qualifications





- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Experience in food preparation and cooking.
- Familiarity with the use of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English and follow oral and written instructions.
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of older adults.
- Experience working with older adults is an asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French is preferred.
