Guitar & Piano Teachers – In-Home Lessons (Part-Time Contract)
Front Door Music Lessons
Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Aldergrove

Pay: $51–$56 per teaching hour
Job type: Part-time, independent contract

About us
Front Door Music Lessons is a new in-home music lesson company in the Fraser Valley. We bring lessons to students' homes, and many of our families are homeschoolers. We're looking for skilled, reliable guitar and piano teachers to join us from the start and grow with the company.

What we offer

- $51–$56 per teaching hour, with rates that grow with your experience and time with us
- Referral bonuses for each recurring student you bring to the business
- Flexible scheduling built around your availability
- We find the students, handle booking and billing, and supply the recording equipment. You focus on teaching.

Skills we're looking for

- Strong playing ability on guitar and/or piano
- Able to teach beginners through intermediate students, from kids to adults
- Solid grasp of theory, technique, and reading (standard notation, tab, or chords as appropriate)
- Patient, clear communicator who can adapt to different ages and learning styles
- Able to set goals and structure lessons so students actually progress
- Teaching experience is a strong asset, but talented players with the right attitude will be considered

Requirements

- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle

- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check (required before your first lesson)
- Must work as an independent contractor
- Professional, punctual, and respectful in clients' homes
- Fluent in English, other languages are a bonus but not required.

Lesson recording policy
To protect students, families, and teachers, every lesson is recorded. We supply the equipment. Recording is a condition of enrollment for all students and a condition of work for all teachers. If you're not comfortable teaching on camera, this role isn't a fit.

About the work
This is part-time work, not a full-time position. Hours depend on student demand in your area and will grow as the business grows.

Who this is for
This role is a great fit for:

- College and university students looking for part-time work that fits around their class schedule
- Working teachers and musicians who want extra income on the side
