Labourers at On Side are important team members who help rebuild and restore damaged personal and commercial property, anywhere and anytime disaster strikes. Labourers are the MVP of the restoration teams. Compensation

- Salary Range: $21-$23/hour

What You’ll Do

- Tackle physical work with energy and enthusiasm
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist with demolition and emergency mitigation after floods, fires, and other disasters
- Support multiple teams through cross-training in remediation, contents cleaning, emergency response, and rebuild
- Help with finishing work like carpentry, trim, and fine details

What You Bring

- Experience and desire to do physical work
- Understanding and experience using hand and power tools
- Willingness to follow all company safety requirements including wearing full PPE as required: Full face masks require clean shave (if applicable)
- Interest in cross training in Remediation, Contents Cleaning, Emergency, Rebuild and helping all teams
- Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software)
- Curious nature, always want to know how things happen
- Strong people, teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail, ability to follow directions
- A safety mindset
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

- Are you comfortable driving a large cube van/fleet vehicle around the city and parking in residential streets? If you are not experienced, are you willing to learn? Confirm whether you can supply a clean driver's abstract.
- This role includes cross training in demolition, cleaning, water emergencies, remediation, and rebuild so we can find your best fit. Tell us why you’d be the strongest candidate for this position, including any relevant skills and your ability to learn and adapt.
- Tell us about your previous experience using hand and power tools. If you have never used power tools, are you willing to learn?
- Will you wear the proper PPE provided for the job? You will be required to wear full Tyvek suits and/or half or full-face masks for certain jobs. Masks require a person to be clean shaven (if that applies to you).
- Please indicate whether you have experience with in home repairs or carpentry work and provide a brief description.
- Do you have any experience with demolition? If yes, please describe what you have demolished and tools you have used.
- Restoration work requires consistent documentation and tracking throughout the workday. Do you have basic experience using a computer or tablet/iPad? Are you comfortable using a smartphone to navigate apps and record information as instructed?
- This job requires physical fitness, including lifting 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and performing repetitive heavy lifting such as moving furniture and boxes. Please explain your physical capability to meet these requirements.
