The Junk Haulers is a locally owned and operated junk removal company based in North Vancouver. We are looking for a hands-on General Manager to run our day-to-day operations and help grow the business.

You will oversee our team, vehicles, scheduling, customer service, sales, and marketing. Working closely with the owners, you will be responsible for delivering excellent service, building an accountable team, and achieving revenue and profitability goals.

This role has a strong sales and business development focus. You will actively prospect for customers, build referral relationships, pursue commercial accounts, and close sales. The ideal candidate enjoys hunting for opportunities and has experience turning those opportunities into revenue.

If you have a background in home services, strong leadership skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset, we want to hear from you. Junk removal experience is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do

Drive Sales & Business Development

- Actively generate new business through prospecting, calls, emails, networking, and in-person visits.
- Build relationships with contractors, property managers, strata managers, realtors, restoration companies, and other referral partners.
- Win recurring commercial accounts, construction debris removal work, and larger cleanout projects.
- Respond quickly to leads, prepare estimates, follow up on quotes, and close sales.




- Coordinate local marketing, neighbourhood outreach, referral programs, and online marketing with our marketing partners.
- Track sales activity, conversion rates, and marketing results to improve performance.

Run Daily Operations

- Manage scheduling, dispatch, route planning, and crew assignments.
- Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Oversee vehicles, maintenance, inspections, equipment, and supplies.
- Manage disposal costs and coordinate recycling, donations, and disposal.
- Resolve customer concerns and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate customer, estimate, and job records.
- Visit job sites and step in to support the team when needed.

Lead & Develop the Team

- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and retain team members.
- Set clear expectations for productivity, professionalism, safety, and customer service.
- Lead regular team meetings and coach employees to achieve their goals.
- Build a positive, accountable culture where people take pride in their work.

Manage Business Performance

- Work with the owners to set and achieve revenue, profitability, and operating goals.
- Monitor labour costs, disposal costs, truck utilization, and job profitability.
- Oversee invoicing, payment collection, and accounts receivable.
- Ensure payroll information is accurate and coordinate with bookkeeping support.
- Manage purchasing and operating expenses.




- Improve systems and processes as the business grows.

What You Bring

- At least 3 years of experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, or in a similar leadership role.
- Experience in home services, preferably junk removal. Related experience in moving, waste services, landscaping, restoration, or similar industries will also be considered.
- A proven ability to generate leads, build business relationships, and close sales.
- Experience hiring, training, coaching, and managing frontline employees.
- Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to balance customer needs, team priorities, and business goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort using CRM, scheduling, estimating, and business reporting software.
- An understanding of operating budgets, financial reports, and profitability.
- A valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record.
