SITE SUPERINTENDENT - HOTEL COMO & SPA WHISTLER

EXECUTIVE GROUP DEVELOPMENT | Whistler, British Columbia | Full-Time | Senior Site Leadership
Salary: $140,000–$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience

BUILD THE NEXT CHAPTER OF WHISTLER LUXURY

This is not a conventional hotel renovation. It is the transformation of an existing Whistler property into a distinctive luxury boutique hotel.

Executive Group Development is seeking an accomplished Senior Site Superintendent to lead day-to-day construction execution for the redevelopment and repositioning of Mountainside Lodge into Hotel Como & Spa Whistler.

For more than four decades, Executive Group has developed, owned and operated distinctive real estate and hospitality projects. Executive Group Development brings together construction, development and long-term ownership with an entrepreneurial approach, attention to detail and direct involvement from senior leadership.

Hotel Como & Spa represents a significant investment and an important new chapter for the Whistler property. Trattoria di Como has been completed, roof and window replacement work is underway, and the project is progressing through permitting and planning for a substantial interior redevelopment encompassing guestrooms, public areas, bar, spa and related facilities.

The finished hotel is expected to reflect a true luxury standard throughout — from guestrooms and bathrooms to corridors, public spaces, millwork, stone, lighting, hardware, finishes and FF&E.;

We are looking for a Superintendent who understands that quality is built in the details.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Senior Site Superintendent, you will be the senior day-to-day construction leader on site, responsible for coordinating trades, sequencing work, maintaining site discipline and ensuring construction progresses safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard.

This is a hands-on field leadership role. You will be expected to understand the drawings, anticipate problems before they affect the schedule, hold trades accountable and maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship.

You will work closely with Executive Group Development’s senior construction and project-management leadership, consultants, designers, suppliers and trades to translate the project vision into the finished building.

Schedule matters. Cost matters. Safety matters.

But on Hotel Como, craftsmanship and quality of execution matter just as much.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD

Site Execution & Trade Coordination

- Lead day-to-day construction activity on site from the current phase through completion.
- Coordinate and supervise trades, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
- Establish transparent daily and weekly priorities and ensure trades understand sequencing, dependencies and required completion dates.
- Maintain accountability for trade performance, workmanship, productivity and site conduct.
- Identify site conflicts, construction issues and scheduling risks early and work with the project team to resolve them quickly.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure work is ready for subsequent trades and project milestones.

Schedule & Construction Sequencing

- Manage detailed field sequencing in alignment with the overall project schedule.
- Monitor progress against construction milestones and identify potential delays before they affect downstream work.

- Develop practical recovery strategies with the project team where construction falls behind.
- Coordinate deliveries, access, staging and site logistics to maintain an efficient and organized job site.
- Provide accurate and timely site-progress information to senior project leadership.

Quality & Luxury Execution

Hotel Como is being repositioned as a luxury boutique hotel, and the quality of the finished product is fundamental to the project.

You will:

- Maintain rigorous quality control throughout construction.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, samples and design intent.
- Pay particular attention to highly visible guest-facing areas, including guestrooms, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, bar and spa.
- Maintain a strong eye for detailed finishes, custom millwork, stone, hardware, lighting and other premium interior elements.
- Identify deficiencies early and ensure they are corrected to the required standard.
- Protect approved design and construction quality while maintaining momentum on site.

Construction Coordination

- Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and interior-design drawings.
- Coordinate site conditions, RFIs, shop drawings and construction details with project management and consultants.
- Work closely with the Project Director/Project Management team and VP Construction regarding site progress, schedule, changes, deficiencies and emerging issues.
- Participate in regular construction meetings, inspections and project reviews.
- Maintain organized and reliable site documentation and reporting.

Safety & Site Leadership

- Maintain a safe, professional and well-managed construction site.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements, company safety standards and applicable site procedures.
- Promote strong housekeeping, site organization and construction discipline.
- Lead by example and create an environment where trades understand both the standards expected and their accountability for delivering them.

Completion & Turnover

- Drive construction through deficiencies, commissioning and final completion.
- Coordinate trade completion and corrective work so finished areas can be inspected, accepted and handed over efficiently.
- Work with the broader project and hotel teams as construction transitions toward operational readiness and opening.

WHO YOU ARE

You are first and foremost a builder and field leader.

You understand how a complex site actually comes together — how trades interact, where sequencing breaks down, what good workmanship looks like and when something simply is not good enough.

You are visible on site. You communicate clearly. You solve problems without creating unnecessary drama, and you know when an issue needs to be escalated before it becomes expensive or affects the schedule.

You can move comfortably between the big picture and the smallest construction detail.

Most importantly,

you take pride in what gets built.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING

- Approximately 10+ years of progressive Site Superintendent experience in commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, high-end residential or similarly complex construction.
- Demonstrated experience leading substantial renovation, redevelopment or high-quality construction projects.
- Luxury hotel, resort or other premium hospitality construction experience is a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, building systems and site coordination.
- Proven ability to manage multiple trades and maintain accountability for schedule and quality.
- Strong understanding of architectural and construction drawings, specifications, RFIs and shop drawings.
- Demonstrated experience with quality control, deficiencies and project turnover.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Excellent judgment, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A strong eye for craftsmanship, detailed finishes and final presentation.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, owner-involved project environment with high expectations for quality and execution.

THE EXECUTIVE DIFFERENCE

Executive Group Development is not a large institutional developer where decisions move through multiple layers of corporate approval.

We are a privately owned organization with more than four decades of experience in real estate, construction, development and hospitality. Senior leadership and ownership remain actively involved in our projects.

You will have access. You will have accountability. And the quality of your work will be visible.

We take a long-term ownership perspective. The objective is not simply to finish construction — it is to create a property that performs, endures and reflects the standard expected of the Executive portfolio.

Hotel Como & Spa Whistler is one of those projects.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Base salary of $140,000–$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- The opportunity to lead site execution on a significant luxury hospitality redevelopment in Whistler.
- Direct interaction with senior construction leadership, project management and ownership.
- A highly visible role with meaningful responsibility and decision-making involvement on site.
- The opportunity to work on a distinctive project where quality, design and craftsmanship are genuine priorities.
- Long-term opportunity within an established real estate, development and hospitality organization.

BUILD SOMETHING DISTINCTIVE

Great construction is more than completing a schedule.

It is knowing when the sequencing is right, when a trade needs to be challenged, when a detail needs another look and when the finished work meets the standard — or does not.

If you are an experienced construction leader who takes pride in building at that level, we would like to meet you.
