Heavy Duty Field Mechanics — Two Opportunities Available

TDS Mechanical is a Vancouver Island based heavy equipment repair company looking for skilled, safety-minded Heavy Duty Field Mechanics to join our team.

Available Positions

1. Highland Valley Copper

● $150 per day living-out allowance (LOA).

● Cabin accommodation provided and paid for by TDS Mechanical.

2. Woodfibre Project — Squamish, BC

● Camp accommodation provided.

Both positions primarily follow a 14 days on / 7 days off rotation, with 12-hour shifts. Day and night shifts may be required, and schedules are subject to project needs.

What You’ll Do

● Diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment in the field.

● Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting.

● Communicate clearly with clients and the TDS Mechanical team.

● Maintain accurate service reports and repair records.

● Take ownership of your work, service truck, and tooling.

● Put safety first through hazard assessments, proper equipment isolation, and compliance with site procedures.

What You Bring

● A strong background in heavy equipment diagnostics and repair.



Field experience is preferred but not mandatory.

● A safety-minded approach and the confidence to stop work when conditions are unsafe.

● The ability to work independently with limited supervision.

● Pride in your workmanship and a commitment to excellent customer service.

● A positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills.

● Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and site conditions.

● Willingness to work rotational shifts, including days and nights.

● Willingness to travel to project sites across Western Canada.
