Position Overview

Augury Healthcare is currently recruiting compassionate, experienced and dedicated Child & Youth Workers (CYWs) for contract opportunities in Toronto, Ontario.

We are seeking professionals who are passionate about supporting children and youth facing emotional, behavioural, developmental or social challenges.

Successful candidates will provide individualized support, build positive relationships and help young people develop the skills and confidence needed to promote their well-being and independence.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct care, supervision and emotional support to children and youth.
- Develop and maintain positive, supportive and professional relationships.
- Assist children and youth with daily routines, recreational activities and life skills development.
- Implement individualized support plans and behavioural management strategies.
- Use trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches when responding to emotional or behavioural needs.
- Support positive behaviour, healthy communication and conflict resolution.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours using established de-escalation strategies.




- Maintain a safe, inclusive and structured support environment.
- Document observations, progress, incidents and relevant behavioural concerns.
- Collaborate with supervisors, caregivers, families and other support professionals.
- Follow organizational policies, confidentiality requirements and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Child and Youth Work, Social Service Work or a related field, or equivalent relevant qualifications.
- Minimum two years of professional experience working with children or youth preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Experience supporting children or youth with behavioural, emotional or developmental challenges is an asset.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Strong interpersonal communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy and professional judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary support team.

Compensation and Benefits

- Competitive hourly compensation of $20.00–$23.00.
