Opportunity Overview

Our client is a large Canadian public company. Enjoy flexible, work-from-home hours. They're looking for short-term help, 4-5 months to get them through February-March 2027 reporting (Dec 31 yearend); they will start recruiting for a permanent replacement in November. This hire would be eligible to consider that. On contract there are no staff reporting; once permanent, likely 1-2 staff. In summary,

- Take over monthly reporting, internal and external
- Consolidation including cash flow and segment reporting
- KPI reporting
- Q4 financial statements, notes, MD&A;
- Any other reporting-related requirements

Responsibilities:

- Preparation of IFRS financial statements and management discussion and analysis
- Responsible for integration of financial reporting data from acquired companies and ensuring alignment between accounting policies
- Prepare monthly consolidation, combining multiple entities and providing operating results for senior management and board of directors.




- Assist financial planning and analysis team with the implementation of internal reporting systems and monthly reconciliations to external results
- Prepare monthly/quarterly entries for share-based compensation, derivative warrants, investments, intangible assets and lease accounting
- Prepare the monthly foreign currency translation and consolidation of an equity-accounted joint venture
- Assist with business combination accounting, preparing accounting memos and purchase price allocations
- Key contact for external auditors, preparing supporting documentation and managing review of all externally filed documents
- Preparation of annual report on form 20-F and assistance with other US regulatory filings

Requirements:

- CPA with a minimum ~5 years of post designation experience
- Experience with public company external financial statement preparation in IFRS, related MD&A;, multiple BU consolidations, KPIs
- Solid Excel
- Nice to have: D365, Power BI, retail, cannabis, liquor
