Overview

Scheller Metal Fab. Ltd. is seeking a motivated and organized Human Resources Generalist for a full-time term position of up to 18 months.

Based primarily at Scheller Metal Fab. Ltd., this role will oversee day-to-day HR operations across Scheller Group Companies, supporting three businesses. The successful candidate will work closely with management and employees to support the employee lifecycle, maintain effective HR practices, and ensure consistent policies and procedures across the organization.

This is a hands-on role suited to an HR professional who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, working independently, and building positive working relationships throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Employee Lifecycle Management: Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, employee changes, offboarding, and related processes.
- Payroll and HRIS: Manage payroll processing, HRIS administration, employee data, and reporting.
- Employee Records: Maintain accurate, confidential employee files, forms, and documentation.
- Policies and Procedures: Maintain, review, and update company policies, handbooks, procedures, and HR processes.
- HR Guidance: Advise and support management and employees on HR procedures, workplace matters, and company policies.
- Performance Management: Coordinate performance reviews and participate in employee-related meetings, coaching, feedback, and corrective action discussions.
- Training and Development: Assist with employee training plans, coaching initiatives, and professional development.
- Health and Safety: Maintain health and safety documentation, records, and related administrative processes.
- Perks and Savings Plans: Administer employee insurance benefits and company retirement plans.
- Employee Engagement:



Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, workplace culture activities, and employee communications.
- Company Events: Plan and coordinate company events and gatherings.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and consistency across all three companies.

Qualifications and Experience

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
- CPHR designation or working towards (considered an asset).
- Knowledge of employment standards, HR best practices, and applicable workplace requirements.
- Experience with payroll (PayWorks), HRIS platforms, benefits administration, and employee records.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and management.
- A high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple teams and departments.
- Microsoft 365 knowledge.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
