We are looking for one skilled, detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our machining team in Lethbridge, Alberta. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, interpret technical drawings, and produce precision components that support our manufacturing, fabrication, and equipment repair projects.

Your Responsibilities

· Set up and operate CNC and manual equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, 3D models, and quality control documents.

· Plan machining sequences and select appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting speeds, feeds, and cutting paths.

· Machine components from steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and other materials.





· Produce individual components and production runs to specified dimensions and tolerances, including tolerances as close as 0.0005 inches where required.

· Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify conformance with specifications.

· Write basic CNC programs and make program adjustments to resolve issues and improve quality and efficiency.

· Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances.

· Complete machining work for component repair and refurbishment.

· Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and temperatures are controlled during machining.

· Track time accurately and manage assigned work effectively.

· Participate in C&A;’s health and safety program and follow company policies, quality procedures, and applicable workplace and site safety requirements.

What You Bring

· Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and milling machines.

· Experience with manual machining equipment.

· Ability to read blueprints and work accurately to close tolerances.

· Basic knowledge of G-code programming and the ability to write and adjust basic CNC programs.

· Working knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and precision measuring instruments.

· Basic computer skills for accessing drawings, working with CNC programs, and tracking time on jobs.

· Strong attention to detail, practical math skills, and the ability to visualize components in three dimensions.

· Ability to maintain accuracy and concentration during detailed machining work.

· Ability to perform the physical duties of machining work,



including working in awkward positions as required, with accommodation where needed.

· Transparent communication, effective time management, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

· Willingness to work occasional weekends as required.

· A commitment to safe work practices, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.

· Willingness to learn new machining techniques and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

· Journeyperson Machinist or CNC Machinist Technician certification preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.

· Familiarity with GibbsCAM software, HAAS CNC equipment, and FANUC controls.

· Experience safely operating overhead cranes and forklifts.

· A valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
