Job Summary

We are an early-stage women’s activewear brand currently developing our first collection and looking for a creative, detail orientated fashion designer to help bring our concepts to life! In this role, you will lead the development of cutting-edge activewear collections that blend performance, comfort, and style. We have already began developing several designs and samples, and are looking for someone with the technical fashion knowledge to help refine the products, improve fit and construction, and communicate design specifications clearly to manufacturers. Responsibilities

- Develop and refine activewear designs based on existing concepts, sketches, samples, and creative direction
- Create professional digital fashion illustrations and technical flats
- Prepare detailed tech packs for manufacturers, including measurements, construction details, materials, trims, colour ways, stitching, branding placement, and other specifications
- Create detailed digital sketches and mood boards using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Suite tools
- Develop technical specifications, CAD drawings, and construction details for prototypes and production samples
- Incorporate motion graphics and 3D animation to visualize designs in dynamic presentations for internal review or marketing purposes
- Collaborate with fabric suppliers, manufacturers, and technical teams to ensure design feasibility and quality standards
- Utilize SketchUp, Maya, or similar 3D modeling software to visualize apparel fit, structure, and fabric behavior in a realistic manner
- Stay updated on emerging trends in fashion design, sportswear innovation,



and visual arts painting to keep collections fresh and relevant
- Review garment samples and identify improvements related to fit, fabric, construction, functionality, and overall design

Requirements

- Proven experience in fashion design with a strong portfolio showcasing activewear or sportswear collections strongly preferred
- Proficiency in digital design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Maya
- Solid understanding of graphic design principles, typography, visual design, and CAD software
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus for integrating digital content or interactive presentations
- Familiarity with 2D/3D animation techniques to enhance visual storytelling of designs
- Ability to translate conceptual ideas into technical sketches and construction drawings using CAD or SketchUp
- Robust sense of aesthetics combined with technical skills in construction painting and fashion illustration
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across creative teams and manufacturing partners

This is an opportunity to work closely with the founder during the early stages of building a new women's activewear brand. Because the brand is still in development, the role will involve both creative design and hands-on product development. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking an initial idea and working through the details necessary to turn it into a high-quality finished product. Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
