- Reporting to the Store Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for providing friendly and courteous service to customers, donors and volunteers. This position works in a fast-paced environment that involves driving sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge._

To be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs employment prospect, applicants must be:

- Legally eligible to work in Canada* in accordance with relevant provincial legislation/regulations
- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, available to start work immediately (in the course of May - June)

- Be available to work full time (30 hours per week) for 9 consecutive weeks
- Have a flexible schedule, be available to work any shift from Sunday to Saturday between 8:30am-8:30pm

Overview : The Sales Associate will help to advance the organization’s strategic goals by embracing the mission, vision, and values of WINS.

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for providing friendly and courteous service to customers, donors and volunteers. This position works in a fast-paced environment that involves driving sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities :





- Foster a positive workplace and team environment through open communication
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and information on products
- Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
- Sort, tag, hang merchandise, arrange, restock sales floor
- Resolve customer complaints to ensure maximum client satisfaction
- Process sales transactions at point of sale (POS) accurately & efficiently
- Receive, sort, & recycle donated goods
- Lift & move all sizes of furniture throughout each shift - 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team
- Promote upcoming sale promotions, events and other WINS initiatives
- Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
- Actively seek out customers in store and “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
- Remain knowledgeable about WINS community impact and the programs offered
- General housekeeping and tidiness of store & rotate inventory on regular basis
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements : Education

- Grade 12 Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

- Previous experience in a retail, customer service environment is an asset
