Attendant

The SconeWitch is a full-service catering and event planning company that provides a variety of culinary services to a variety of industries in Ottawa, ON. We are looking for an Attendant to provide food service to our Ottawa, ON based team.

Responsibilities

- Prepare food for service and take orders from customers in a timely manner.
- Serve food items to customers according to order.
- Keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
- Assist with cleaning up after customers.
- Answer questions and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain inventory, prep orders, and keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
- Follow proper food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.

Experience/Skills/Requirements -Previous experience in food service or retail preferred but not required. -Strong customer service skills with experience as an Attendant or similar role is preferred but not required. -Ability to communicate effectively with customers, fellow employees, and clients is a must.

- Handle food preparation tasks, including assembling and packaging food items
- Manage cash handling and cashiering responsibilities with basic math skills for transactions
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment to ensure food safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly and addressing their needs promptly
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling of food and beverages
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery

Requirements :

- Previous experience in food service or barista roles is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
- Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility for shifts during busy periods
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role
