We are looking for a mature, reliable, responsible, and patient Teaching Assistant to join our Kumon Centre team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and has a strong math background.
Teaching Assistant – Early Learners
Our Kumon Centre is looking for a patient, caring, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with early learners in English and Math.
Responsibilities
- Assist young learners with their English and Math worksheets.
- Support students according to the Kumon Method and learning approach.
- Encourage students to work independently and develop confidence in their learning.
- Provide guidance and assistance when students need support.
- Help create a positive, welcoming, and productive learning environment.
- Observe students’ progress and communicate any concerns to the Instructor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working with young children is preferred.
- Knowledge of phonics and early literacy is an asset.
- Patience and a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible, dependable, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is an asset.
- A criminal record/background check can be provided.
Training Provided
Previous Kumon experience is not required. We will provide training on how to assist students according to the Kumon Method, including how to guide students while encouraging independence and self-learning.
