Job Summary

Talbot House is seeking a reliable, skilled, and hardworking individual to maintain our facility, buildings, equipment, and grounds. The ideal candidate must be hands-on, mechanically inclined, capable of completing repairs, and comfortable operating a Kubota machine for property maintenance.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot problems independently, and helps keep our facility safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and property upkeep.
- Troubleshoot and fix common maintenance and mechanical problems.
- Complete minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other general repairs within their skill level.
- Operate a Kubota machine safely and confidently for groundskeeping and property maintenance.
- Maintain lawns, gardens, trees, and outdoor areas.
- Perform seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, ice control, and property cleanup.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, tools, and equipment and report issues requiring specialized repairs.
- Maintain and organize tools, machinery, and maintenance supplies.
- Keep walkways, entrances, parking areas, and outdoor spaces safe and accessible.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Report maintenance needs, completed work,



and significant concerns directly to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Must have hands-on repair and maintenance skills and the ability to troubleshoot and fix problems.
- Must be able to safely and confidently operate a Kubota machine.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, general repairs, landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related trade.
- Mechanically inclined, with the ability to identify and address maintenance issues independently.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and outdoor maintenance equipment safely.
- Ability to perform physical work and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Solid work ethic, reliability, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and complete assigned tasks.
- Valid driver's licence is a requirement.
- First Aid/CPR and relevant safety training are assets.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be dependable, resourceful, and capable of taking initiative without needing constant supervision. They must be comfortable handling repairs, maintaining equipment, operating machinery, and keeping the property in excellent condition.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
