Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and hands-on Field Operations & Safety Supervisor to support our transportation operations while promoting a strong safety culture. This role combines field operations, driver supervision, fleet coordination, safety compliance, training, and incident prevention.

The successful candidate will work closely with drivers, Dispatch, Safety, Maintenance, customers, and vendors to ensure operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

- Support daily field operations, driver scheduling, equipment availability, and resource allocation.
- Act as a point of contact for drivers and assist with operational and safety-related issues.
- Conduct field safety observations and inspections of drivers, equipment, facilities, and operational practices.
- Investigate incidents, spills, near-misses, and safety concerns; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct driver safety training, coaching, orientations, and performance follow-ups.
- Monitor compliance with company safety procedures, TDG regulations, and applicable transportation requirements.
- Coordinate with Maintenance and external vendors for inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, towing, and equipment availability.
- Support new-driver onboarding, road evaluations, terminal carding, and equipment requirements.




- Collaborate with Dispatch and Operations Managers to address operational risks, service issues, and run-out prevention.
- Maintain accurate safety, inspection, incident, and operational records.
- Promote continuous improvement in safety, driver performance, fleet readiness, and operational efficiency.

Experience

- Experience in fuel/petroleum transportation, bulk transportation, or dangerous goods operations is required.
- Minimum 1 year of fuel transportation safety experience is required.
- Previous experience in transportation safety, field operations, fleet, dispatch, or a supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of TDG regulations and transportation safety/compliance requirements.
- Experience with driver inspections, incident investigations, safety training, and corrective actions.
- Solid leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with dispatch, fleet maintenance, TMS, or scheduling systems is an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Requirements

- English proficiency required; French proficiency strongly preferred.
- Valid Class 1/AZ driver's licence is an asset.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Availability for on-call rotations, shift work, and occasional weekend coverage.
- Ability to work in person and maintain an active presence in field operations.
