About the Role

SNOW CHOP is hiring a reliable, hard‑working Snow Removal Labourer for the 2026/27 winter season. This position runs November 1 to April 15 and involves clearing walkways and entry paths using snow shovels, snow blowers, backpack blowers, ice scrapers, and applying ice melt on residential and commercial properties throughout Fort St. John. Work is weather‑dependent and occurs during active snow events, early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

- Clear walkways, steps, and entry paths using shovels and ice scrapers
- Operate small snow blowers and backpack blowers safely
- Apply ice melt according to company standards
- Assist equipment operators during snow events
- Maintain clean, professional work standards on every property
- Follow company safety procedures and equipment handling guidelines
- Communicate clearly with the team and report issues promptly

Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Smartphone required to use the company work app for routes, job notes, and communication
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh winter conditions
- Physically fit: able to lift 50 lbs and walk for extended periods
- Positive attitude, punctuality, and strong work ethic
- Experience in snow removal or landscaping is an asset but not required




- Must supply their own CSA‑approved steel or composite‑toe winter boots
- Must be available to work during all snow events throughout the season (Nov 1 – April 15). Work is weather‑dependent, and shifts occur whenever snowfall requires service.
- Willing to provide a Criminal Record Check
- Willing to perform and pass Drug & Alcohol testing when required for commercial or industrial worksites
- Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written)
