Location: Barrie, ON
Pay: $19–$21/hour
Type: 3-month contract
Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Assembler / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team at our Barrie headquarters. This role focuses on fabrication and assembly of aluminum framing, machine guarding, and custom mechanical components used in automation systems.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, reading drawings, and building high-quality products with their hands.
What You’ll Do
- Cut, drill, tap, and assemble Bosch Rexroth aluminum extrusion systems
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD prints
- Fabricate machine guarding and framing to precise dimensions
- Cut sheet materials using table saw and shear
- Cut steel rails using wet saw
- Perform fit, finish, and basic quality checks (“scratch & dent” inspection)
- Assist with shop equipment setup and maintenance
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor and team members
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, machining, or a related trade
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to read technical drawings and measurements
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solver
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Assets (not required):
- Forklift experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with aluminum extrusion systems
- Shop / manufacturing background
