Typical Duties and Responsibilities

- Resurface the ice pad with a Zamboni as necessary and ensure a smooth quality surface
- Resurface Mini Rink using hand tools
- Ice maintenance using edger
- Post room assignments as per daily facility schedule
- Maintain the facility cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, dusting, shoveling, and thoroughly cleaning change rooms, washrooms and showers
- Empty garbage receptacles and put the bags in the dumpster when required
- Maintain Zamboni (ie. grease fittings as per schedule), nets/boards/glass in the rink area.
- Painting and minor building maintenance when required
- Open/close the facility with no supervision.
- General maintenance tasks as directed

Qualifications & Experience Required

- Minimum 1 year experience working in an arena
- Operating Zamboni or Olympia an asset
- Experience changing blade on Zamboni or Olympia an asset
- Able to work in cold on-ice conditions




- Must be physically able to complete repetitive tasks
- Able to work weekday evenings and weekend shifts
- Must have previous experience working on machinery or general construction experience
- Mechanical background and refrigeration experience an asset
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow direction of supervisors
- First-Aid / CPR Required
- Vulnerable Sector Check required

Wage:$22 to $25 per hour (Rate of pay based on experience)

Shifts: We currently are looking for someone to pick-up 2-3 shifts per week including 1 or 2 weekend shifts. The weekend shifts generally start at around 11am or 12pm and go until later afternoon on Saturday, and around 8pm Sundays.
