Personal Support Worker - Alvinston, Lambton County - CAD$630.00/week

We're seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to support a family caring for their mother with advanced dementia in rural Lambton County, near Alvinston. This is a respite care chance designed to provide the primary family caregiver with much-needed breaks during travel periods.

About the Client: The client's mother is fully mobile and can handle her own toileting and hygiene independently. However, she has advanced dementia and cannot operate kitchen appliances, cook, or reheat food safely. She requires supervision for safety and benefits from a calm, patient presence. Daily PSW visits already cover bathing and dressing needs. She is accustomed to different caregivers coming and going throughout the day.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare a light breakfast each morning
- Prepare a heartier lunch before departure
- Ensure snacks are readily available for later in the day
- Perform light housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry
- Provide supervision and safety monitoring
- Engage with the client in a warm, comforting manner
- Communicate clearly with family members about any concerns

Schedule: This position requires daily morning visits from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, seven days a week during the family's travel periods.



Care is needed for approximately three months per year in non-consecutive blocks (primarily mid-November to mid-December, mid-January to mid-February, and mid-March to mid-April). The family will provide advance notice before each travel period. Two caregivers may share this schedule to ensure consistent coverage.

The family lives on a farm in Lambton County, approximately one hour from London. A family member lives next door and is available for support if needed. This is an ideal opportunity for caregivers seeking flexible, seasonal work with a warm family who values quality care and clear communication.
