As a member of the Guest Services team for the largest, drive-through, holiday light show in Southwestern Ontario, Magic of Lights, you will be responsible for ensuring that the lights are always on and guests have a fantastic experience!

***This job is taking place at the event venue, Fanshawe Conservation Area, in the northeast corner of London. This location is not accessible by public transportation. Only applicants with personal transportation that is reliable in winter driving conditions are encouraged to apply.**

Responsibilities:

- Spreading festive cheer!
- Helping with traffic management, guiding vehicles into and through the show
- Greeting guests, sharing show information, scanning tickets
- Selling tickets at the gate
- Directing guests to pick up pre-purchased merchandise
- Ensuring guests follow safety rules while enjoying the show
- Helping with general maintenance, and cleanliness of the show grounds

Working Hours

This is a part-time role, with 4-5 hour shifts between 5pm-10pm. Shifts could be on week nights or weekend evenings. The show is open 7 days per week. Minimum 3 shifts per week, up to 7 shifts/week available if desired. Outdoor work.

Qualifications

- Experience as event staff (Canada Life Place, Pumpkins After Dark, Western Fair, etc) or in Customer Service strongly preferred
- Friendly, positive, kind, festive demeanor required
- Reliable, on-time, and trustworthy
- Capable & comfortable using point-of-sale technology/devices for ticket scanning and merchandise sales
- Able & willing to walk 2+km per shift, to manage traffic along the show route




- Willing & able to work in winter weather conditions
- Personal transportation required. Event location is not accessible by public transit.

Term

Training during the week of November 16. Show shifts between Nov 20-Jan 3. This is a contract position, for the duration of the event.

The Magic of Lights is a world-class holiday light display with a two million+ sparkling LED lights that will transform the Fanshawe Conservation Area, in the northeast corner of London, into an amazing winter wonderland. Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week

- All shifts are 3+ hours outdoors in cold weather. Do you have suitable winter apparel such as well-insulated winter coat, warm & waterproof winter boots, hat/toque, gloves? This is required.
- Are you willing and available to work a minimum of 3 evening shifts/week, including at least 1 weekend evening (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)?
- Are you able and willing to walk 2+km per shift, in wintery conditions, to manage traffic along the show route?
- Are you able to and comfortable using point-of-sale technology/devices to scan tickets and collect payment when training is provided?
- Do you have personal transportation that is reliable in winter driving conditions to commute to and from this job?
