Litas Bakery – Colombian Bakery

Job Overview

Litas Bakery is seeking an experienced, talented, and dedicated Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate must have at least 4 years of baking experience, be fluent in Spanish, and have a strong knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation, and traditional Colombian baked goods.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of Colombian baked products while maintaining high standards of quality, freshness, presentation, and food safety. Experience preparing traditional Colombian breads, pastries, and savory baked goods is highly preferred. The candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate effectively in Spanish with team members and management in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare and bake traditional Colombian baked goods, including pandebonos, buñuelos, almojábanas, roscón, and other Colombian breads and pastries.
- Prepare cakes, cookies, desserts, and other baked products according to established recipes and customer requirements.
- Measure, mix, knead, shape, proof, and bake doughs and batters using appropriate baking techniques and equipment.
- Ensure consistent product quality, taste, texture, freshness, and presentation.
- Decorate cakes and desserts using advanced cake decorating techniques when required.
- Follow recipes accurately and adjust ingredient quantities as needed to maintain consistency.
- Operate commercial ovens, mixers, and other bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor baking times, oven temperatures,



and product quality throughout production.
- Package and label baked goods for retail sale and customer orders while ensuring freshness and proper presentation.
- Monitor inventory, check ingredient levels, and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Maintain clean and sanitary workstations, equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
- Follow applicable food safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, allergen management, and sanitation procedures.
- Communicate effectively in Spanish with team members and management to coordinate daily production and meet deadlines.
- Minimize food waste through proper ingredient management and storage.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Minimum of 4 years of baking experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or similar food production environment.
- Fluency in Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
- Demonstrated experience with baking techniques, dough preparation, proofing, fermentation, and oven operation.
- Experience preparing traditional Colombian baked goods is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ingredients, measurements, recipes, and quality control.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation,



and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with cake decorating, pastry preparation, and packaging baked goods is an asset.
- Ability to operate commercial bakery equipment safely.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required.

Preferred Skills

- Familiarity with Colombian baking traditions, recipes, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Ability to produce authentic Colombian baked goods with consistent taste, texture, and quality.
- Experience preparing products for retail display, customer orders, and high-volume production.
- Flexibility to assist with various bakery products and production tasks as needed.

Work Environment

The Baker will work at Litas Bakery in a commercial bakery environment, preparing fresh Colombian baked goods and other bakery products. The position requires a solid commitment to quality, cleanliness, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

Experience and Language Requirements

Applicants must have at least 4 years of baking experience and be fluent in Spanish. Candidates with experience in Colombian bakeries and knowledge of traditional Colombian breads, pastries, and savory baked goods are strongly encouraged to apply.

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
