Foreman – Interior Systems Mechanic (ISM)

TCA Developments is seeking an experienced Foreman – Interior Systems Mechanic (ISM) to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong experience in commercial interior construction and crew supervision, with a commitment to quality workmanship and maintaining a safe, organized, and productive job site.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities, assigning tasks and providing transparent direction to crew members
- Plan labour, materials, tools, and equipment to meet project schedules
- Monitor progress and communicate site conditions, delays, and material requirements to the project manager
- Coordinate work with other trades and site supervisors
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layout details
- Install steel stud framing, drywall, and insulation for commercial interior systems
- Perform mudding, taping, and finishing to a high standard
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with project specifications, and arrange corrections as needed
- Train and mentor crew members in work methods, quality expectations, and safe work practices
- Lead toolbox meetings and ensure hazard assessments are completed before work begins and when conditions change
- Enforce company safety policies and site procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Identify and address unsafe conditions, and promptly report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
- Maintain accurate daily records of crew hours, work progress, and site issues




- Maintain valuable housekeeping and ensure materials, tools, and equipment are stored safely

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction trades
- Previous experience as a foreman or crew lead in commercial interior construction
- Strong working knowledge of commercial interior systems and steel stud framing
- Experience with drywall installation, mudding, taping, finishing, and insulation installation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to supervise crews, organize daily work, and meet project deadlines
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and the ability to lead safe work practices
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry construction materials
- Comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding
- Ability to work in a physically demanding construction environment

Pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour
