About the Client:

We are seeking a compassionate caregiver for an elderly woman in her late 70s who has been experiencing increased isolation and low mood following her husband's passing several years ago. She is generally independent but has been struggling with daily tasks as she ages, which has caused frustration and anxiety. She speaks both Greek and English, though Greek is her preferred language for conversation with family and friends. She maintains a disciplined approach to her health and daily routines but needs encouragement and support to stay positive and active. She attends chair yoga on Mondays and has exercises she does at home every other day. She experiences some discomfort in her neck related to arthritis and occasional back pain from reduced mobility. She also has some bladder pressure issues at night but no infections have been found. She manages her medications independently using a blister pack system but had one recent incident of taking the wrong day's pills, which upset her greatly.

Responsibilities:

Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and anxiety. Assist with light meal preparation including reheating meals and providing reminders to eat and stay hydrated. Monitor and remind about medication schedules without disrupting her established routine. Help with light housekeeping and tidying to maintain a clean living setting.



Encourage and possibly participate in her home exercise routine to ensure she performs exercises properly. Provide occasional transportation for errands or appointments. Offer memory prompts and gentle redirection as needed. Communicate observations about her wellbeing to the care team after each visit.

What We're Looking For:

A calm, kind, and patient caregiver who can provide encouragement and help the client maintain a positive outlook. Greek language skills are highly preferred as this would greatly enhance communication and comfort. Experience with memory care and supporting seniors experiencing anxiety or low mood. Ability to respect her independence while providing appropriate support. Someone who can build trust and communicate clearly with both the client and her family. Reliable, consistent presence who takes initiative when needed and brings positive energy to visits.
