Matrix HR is recruiting experienced Industrial Painters for potential opportunities supporting shipbuilding operations in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
We are seeking candidates with hands-on experience in industrial surface preparation, abrasive blasting, protective coatings and industrial spray applications.
Previous shipyard, marine, fabrication, heavy-equipment or industrial maintenance experience is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare metal surfaces using grinders, sanders, hand tools and abrasive blasting equipment.
- Apply industrial primers, epoxy coatings and protective finishes using appropriate application methods.
- Perform surface preparation to meet specified coating requirements.
- Follow established safety procedures while working in industrial and potentially confined environments.
- Maintain equipment and comply with project quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of relevant industrial painting experience.
- Experience with industrial coatings and surface preparation.
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding industrial environment.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Ability to satisfy applicable security screening and site-access requirements.
Relevant Fall Protection, Confined Space and WHMIS certifications are assets. Specific certification requirements will be confirmed before deployment.
