Our client, a major national transportation provider, is seeking a Freight Audit / Receivables Supervisor to join its Business Automation & Customer Experience department in Winnipeg.

This is not a traditional accounts receivable role focused solely on collections. The freight audit team acts as an internal audit and risk mitigation function for the transportation network, identifying and resolving billing, rating and operational issues at their source.

This opportunity is well suited to a transportation professional who understands how freight is rated and billed, enjoys solving complex problems, and brings proven leadership experience. Candidates with a stronger background may be considered for a Manager, Freight Audit position.

The Opportunity

Working alongside an existing supervisor and reporting to the Director of Accounts Receivable, Credit & Cash Applications, you will help lead a freight audit group comprising 12 full-time auditors. The Director reports to the Vice President of Business Automation & Customer Experience. The team supports a broad range of freight services, including LTL, truckload, flatbed, domestic and cross-border road transportation, EMP/intermodal, and marine containers.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and hands-on support to the freight audit team
- Investigate billing discrepancies, rating errors and operational issues across multiple freight modes
- Identify the root causes of recurring errors and work with internal teams to implement lasting corrections
- Help maintain robust relationships with key customer accounts through accurate billing and timely issue resolution
- Analyze freight rates, accessorial charges and billing data to identify discrepancies and potential risks
- Use Excel and reporting tools to aggregate data, identify trends and support informed decisions
- Partner with accounts receivable, customer service and operations to strengthen billing accuracy and improve the customer experience




- Step in to support team priorities and operational requirements as needed

What You Bring:
- A transportation industry background, with 1–3 years of progressive experience in freight audit, freight billing, transportation customer service or a related transportation role
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to coach others, manage priorities and resolve issues
- A strong understanding of freight rating structures, accessorial charges and transportation billing processes
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, including the ability to trace discrepancies to their source
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, data aggregation, analysis and reporting
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to resolving billing issues
- Experience with TMW and Microsoft Great Plains is a strong asset

Direct freight audit experience is welcome, but not essential. Our client is open to teaching the audit process to someone who already understands transportation billing and demonstrates strong analytical and leadership capabilities. Location & Working Arrangement:

This position is based in Winnipeg and requires on-site attendance, with limited exceptions. It is not a remote or regular hybrid opportunity.
