Audio Production Manager — Music, Voice Recording & Post-Production

Company: Skyship Entertainment

Location: Toronto, ON · On-site

Employment type: Full-time

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 CDN

ABOUT US

Skyship Entertainment™ is best known as the creator of the super-popular Super Simple Songs YouTube channel! We’re a digital-first animation and live-action TV production studio focusing on original series and song content for preschoolers and older audiences - and we’ve recently expanded beyond YouTube into subscription apps, games, books and products.

THE ROLE

Skyship Entertainment is looking for an organized, proactive Audio Production Manager to coordinate audio work across our songs, animated and live-action series, games, social media, consumer products, and touring shows.

You’ll manage the audio production schedule and keep projects, people, and materials moving through recording, post-production, review, and delivery. You’ll work closely with the Head of Audio, production managers, creative teams, composers, arrangers, performers, and external partners.

This role also handles important music administration and distribution work, including contracts, rights metadata, cue sheets, and deliveries to music distribution partners. It’s a production operations role; the focus is on planning and coordination rather than composing or engineering audio.

WHAT YOU’LL DOManage audio schedules and team workflow

- Own and maintain the integrated audio production schedule across projects, including songs, voice records, post audio, games, social content, live action, and touring shows.
- Work with production managers and the Head of Audio to plan deliveries, priorities, and team capacity.
- Plan ahead for recording batches, team availability, and vacations; flag schedule risks and bottlenecks early.
- Coordinate weekly audio team check-ins, maintain team task lists and project updates in tools such as Monday.com and Slack, and share audio schedule updates in production meetings.
- Keep production teams informed when approved mixes, masters, or other audio materials are ready.

Coordinate music administration and distribution

- Track songs selected for purchase and initiate composer and arranger contracts.
- Maintain song, composer, arranger, and performing-rights metadata in internal databases.
- Maintain the music database with lyrics, identifiers, cue sheets, and related information.
- Coordinate ISRC and ISWC assignment or registration for songs and sing-along versions.

- Organize sheet music and versioning materials in batches, and coordinate content versioning, including language versions.
- Prepare and coordinate music cue sheets for songs and series; follow up on missing information and deliver completed cue sheets to Warner.
- Collect and deliver masters, metadata, language versions, and required artwork and video assets for Warner releases.
- Provide weekly delivery schedule updates and maintain agendas for monthly Warner Music meetings.
- Coordinate concert set-list information for ongoing SOCAN registrations.

Coordinate voice and music recording sessions

- Schedule voice, song, live-action voice-over, and ADR records with the Head of Audio and production managers.
- Coordinate with multiple song writers, arrangers, composers and vocalists across multiple projects.
- Prepare recording materials, including scripts, record drafts, character counts, and walla notes where needed.
- Distribute scripts and recording information to performers and the audio team in advance
- Prepare and distribute talent contracts.
- Track pickups and work with editors to ensure they are completed promptly.
- Coordinate audio handoffs from records to dialogue editing, animatics, or music editing.

Coordinate post-production and delivery

- Ensure the audio team has updated picture and necessary materials in time for sound design and mix.
- Coordinate sound effects and mix passes, reviews, notes, revisions, and final delivery with audio, production, and creative teams.
- Track composer cue sheets and audio status for animation, live-action, and game projects.
- Keep game audio status current in Monday.com, ensuring the audio team has necessary references and the Head of Games receives audio deliveries for review on time.
- Coordinate music, sound effects, and mix schedules for social media content.
- Deliver audio assets for consumer products and coordinate cue delivery for new touring shows.
- Provide occasional support with related production documentation and Wiki updates.
- Coordinating necessary asset deliveries to versioning studios, as well as wrangling all deliveries accordingly.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- At least 5 years of experience in production coordination or production management in audio, music, animation, television, film, games, or another media environment.
- Experience owning schedules or delivery workflows across multiple projects, with the judgment to spot conflicts and resolve issues early.
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail, especially when managing metadata, contracts, versions, and delivery requirements.
- Clear, timely communication with creative teams, production teams, performers, composers, and external partners.
- Comfort working across overlapping deadlines and adapting as production priorities change.
- Confidence using project tracking and documentation tools. Experience with Monday.com, Slack, Harvest, and Wiki-based systems is an asset.

YOU MUST HAVE

- Experience with music distribution, music rights administration, cue sheets, ISRCs, ISWCs, or performing-rights organizations.
- Experience coordinating recording sessions, audio post-production, language versioning, or international deliveries.

IT WOULD BE AN ASSET IF YOU HAVE

- Experience working in children’s media or with songs and character-based content.

HOW SUCCESS LOOKS You’ll help the audio team see what’s coming, prepare for recording and post-production in valuable time, and deliver complete, accurate materials by their deadlines. Production teams and external partners will have clear updates, and audio tasks, rights information, and delivery details will be easy to track.
