Reports To: Banquet Manager / Venue Director

Pay: Commensurate with experience

Position Summary

Era Event Venue is seeking an organized, hands-on, and service-driven Banquet Supervisor to lead on-site event operations. The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing banquet staff, coordinating event execution, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences for weddings, corporate functions, and private events. This leadership role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff during events
- Review event orders, floor plans, timelines, and client requirements prior to each function
- Oversee room setup and décor placement to ensure accuracy and quality standards
- Act as the secondary on-site point of contact for clients, vendors, and event partners
- Monitor food and beverage service to ensure efficiency and professionalism
- Address guest concerns or service issues promptly and courteously
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor service regulations
- Manage staff scheduling support, break rotations, and task delegation during events
- Conduct post-event inspections, inventory checks, and closing procedures
- Provide training, coaching,



and performance feedback to event staff

Qualifications & Skills

- 2+ years of experience in hospitality, banquet service, or event operations preferred
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience strongly preferred
- Valid Smart Serve Certification (Ontario) required or willingness to obtain
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Reliable transportation to and from Oakville

Work Environment

- Fast-paced event venue with changing schedules based on bookings
- Indoor venue with occasional outdoor components
- Shifts may range from 6–12 hours depending on event size and complexity
