We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Customer Service professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare quality beverages, serve our delicious cakes and pastries and ensure a welcoming environment for all guests. This role requires a passion for the food industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Prior experience in food service or as a barista is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position offers an prospect to develop skills in food preparation, cash handling, and customer engagement while contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and other menu items with attention to quality and presentation
- Operate POS systems such as Square efficiently for order processing and cash handling
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and provide excellent customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately and balance cash register at the end of shifts
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area, including food prep stations and dining spaces
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed,
including basic food assembly and serving
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without sacrificing quality
- Uphold health and safety regulations related to food safety and sanitation standards
Skills
- Previous experience as a barista or in food service is highly desirable
- Proficiency with POS systems, for efficient transaction processing
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and order calculations
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Effective communication skills to interact clearly with customers and team members
