Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Barista Service Manager to lead the team at The Zephyr Cafe at The Brackendale Art Gallery and ensure exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive barista and food service experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality service. This role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, training staff, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring efficient service flow.

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth workflow during shifts
- Lead and motivate the barista team to deliver outstanding customer service
- Manage POS transactions using Toast POS systems with accuracy and efficiency
- Handle cash handling, cashiering, and basic math calculations with precision
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with alcohol service standards as per the LCRB
- Champion training all staff on barista standards, service procedures, and POS usage
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for stock replenishment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work environment in accordance with health regulations
- Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction

Skills





- Proven experience as a Barista and in food service management, with solid knowledge of coffee preparation and serving techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse customer needs professionally
- Solid leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and train staff effectively
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling, register balancing, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with team members and customers
