Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Beef HerdsPerson to join our livestock management team. This role involves caring for and maintaining the health and well-being of our cattle, ensuring their safety and productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a passion for farm life, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment.

Prior experience with farm machinery and mechanical knowledge is highly valued, as well as the ability to perform heavy lifting and operate various equipment safely.

A background in veterinary medicine would be an asset

Duties

- Feed, water, and monitor the health of the herd daily to ensure optimal conditions
- Assist with breeding, calving, and herd movement activities
- Maintain clean and safe living environments for the cattle
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors, feed trucks, and other equipment necessary for daily operations
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm machinery and equipment
- Assist with fencing, pasture management, and pasture rotation tasks
- Record keeping related to herd health, breeding schedules, and feed inventory




- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and animal welfare standards at all times

Skills

- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on farm machinery
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, including handling feed bags, equipment parts, or livestock-related materials
- Experience working with farm machinery such as tractors, loaders, or other agricultural equipment is preferred
- Strong physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Good organizational skills to manage daily tasks efficiently
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently and work as part of a team
