Join our vibrant team as a Before School Childcare Worker, where your passion for nurturing and educating young children will shine! In this role, you will provide engaging, secure, and caring support for children in a welcoming environment before you walk them across the street to their school. Your energy and dedication will help create a positive space where children feel secure, inspired, and excited to learn.

This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives while developing your skills in early childhood education and caregiving. This position is from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. each school day and is perfect for those with part time jobs who would like to add a couple of hours to their work day!

Qualifications:

- Responsible Adult Certificate, ECEA or ECE Certificate (Pay and position will be dependant on qualifications)
- Willingness to obtain certification in first aid and CPR is expected

Responsibilities

- Supervise and engage children during the hour and a half before school, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction for school aged children




- Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive interactions and developmentally appropriate conduct
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians in the morning hours
- Assist with classroom organization, including setting up activities and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with team members to plan educational programs aligned with childhood development principles

Experience

- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education practices and childhood development milestones
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques suitable for school aged children
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children with complex needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
