About the Role

Phoenix Cladding Systems Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter with experience in commercial building-envelope and exterior cladding systems.

The successful candidate will prepare detailed shop drawings, elevations, sections, connection details, and installation drawings for exterior cladding projects. These drawings will support our estimating, fabrication, project management, and installation teams.

The candidate will work closely with our internal project team and external professional engineers to ensure drawings are coordinated, technically detailed, and ready for the appropriate engineering review and approval.

We are open to full-time or part time candidates depending on qualifications and workload.

Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed shop drawings for exterior cladding and building-envelope systems.
- Produce elevations, sections, wall details, flashing details, panel layouts, and installation drawings.
- Draft details for ACM panels, metal cladding, fibre-cement siding, EIFS, insulation, rainscreen assemblies, and associated support systems.
- Prepare and revise drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Coordinate architectural, structural, and building-envelope drawings.
- Incorporate engineer-provided design criteria, calculations, and connection details into drawing packages.
- Revise drawings in response to consultant comments, RFIs, field measurements, and site conditions.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, material measurements, and drawing coordination where required.
- Maintain organized drawing files, revision histories, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, site personnel, and external engineering consultants.

Required Qualifications

- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD drafting software.
- Experience preparing construction drawings, shop drawings,



or architectural/structural details.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, construction documents, dimensions, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet project deadlines and manage multiple drawing packages.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with exterior cladding, façade systems, or commercial building-envelope construction.
- Familiarity with ACM panels, metal siding, fibre-cement panels, EIFS, insulation, and rainscreen systems.
- Knowledge of cladding sub-framing, girts, brackets, attachment details, and flashing assemblies.
- Experience with construction shop drawings and fabrication details.
- Familiarity with Revit or other BIM software.
- Experience coordinating drawings with structural engineers and architectural consultants.
- Construction industry experience or a background in architectural technology, civil engineering technology, or structural drafting.

Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who understands how construction drawings translate into actual fabrication and installation.

The ideal candidate can take architectural drawings and project requirements, develop clear and accurate cladding shop drawings, and coordinate with our engineering consultants to resolve technical details.

Candidates with practical construction knowledge and experience in exterior wall systems will be given preference over candidates with general drafting experience alone.
