Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various cabling systems within commercial and industrial environments. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, telecommunication systems, and electrical principles.

The Cabling

Technician will play a critical role in ensuring reliable network connectivity and communication infrastructure, supporting the operational needs of our clients. Candidates should possess mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools, and experience working with low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

- Install, test, and troubleshoot Ethernet cabling and other computer networking infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Set up and maintain telecommunication systems, including telephony and Cisco routers.
- Perform cable management tasks such as routing, labeling, and securing cables in accordance with industry standards.
- Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to cut, strip, terminate, and connect cables accurately.
- Assist in the installation of low voltage wiring for various communication systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues or safety hazards within cabling infrastructure.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.




- Document installation processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues by diagnosing hardware or wiring problems and implementing effective solutions.

Requirements

- Proven experience with Ethernet cabling, computer networking, telecommunication systems, and low voltage wiring.
- Mechanical knowledge related to cable installation and system maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools used in cable termination and installation tasks.
- Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and telephony systems is highly desirable.
- Electrical experience or background in electrical systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices for working with low voltage systems.
- Ability to read technical diagrams, blueprints, or schematics related to cabling infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail for troubleshooting issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments requiring physical dexterity and manual labor skills.

This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic workplace while developing specialized skills in telecommunications and network infrastructure installation. Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
