St. George's School of Montreal

Montreal

Company Description St. George's School of Montreal is an independent K–12 school offering an individualized, hands-on, and well-balanced educational experience. The school focuses on the unique strengths and passions of each learner, developing students who are both well-rounded and well-prepared.

Students are encouraged to think critically, express themselves creatively, and become confident problem solvers. The school provides a nurturing, respectful environment that promotes self-discovery, collaboration, and a genuine enjoyment of learning. Through meaningful inquiry and reflection in and beyond the classroom, students grow into engaged, compassionate citizens.

We are seeking a motivated and resourceful Digital Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications department on a six-month contract (renewable). Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this is a hands-on role that will make an immediate impact: you will own our search presence, lead our email communications program and support digital campaigns across enrolment and advancement, including our centennial campaign.

You are an early-to-mid career professional who moves quickly, takes ownership and is comfortable building and improving systems. You understand how audiences find and engage with organisations online, and you know how to reach them effectively, whether through search, email or emerging AI-driven discovery channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Search and Discoverability

- Develop and implement an SEO strategy to improve organic visibility for the School across enrolment, program and event-related searches.

- Optimize web content for AI-driven search platforms (AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and similar) to ensure the School is accurately and prominently represented in generative search results.
- Conduct regular site audits, keyword research and competitor benchmarking, and translate findings into concrete actions.
- Maintain and monitor Google Search Console, GA4 and other analytics tools; report on performance and adjust strategy accordingly.

Email Marketing and Automation

- Plan, build and deploy email campaigns for prospective families, current community members, alumni and donors using Blackbaud Pushpage.
- Design and implement automated email journeys, including enrolment nurture sequences and alumni re-engagement flows, in support of the centennial campaign.
- Manage list hygiene, segmentation and deliverability to maximize reach and engagement.
- rack and report on open rates, click-through rates and conversions; iterate based on results.

Digital Campaigns and Whole-School Communications

- Support digital campaign planning and execution across enrolment, advancement and School events.
- Collaborate with the MarCom team and the Enrolment department to ensure campaigns are cohesive across channels and audiences.

- Create digital ads and visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Manage and track campaign workflows and deliverables using monday.com or a comparable project management platform.
- Contribute to landing page performance, paid search strategy and digital advertising as needed.
- Stay current on digital marketing trends, platform changes and AI search developments; bring recommendations to the team proactively.

Skills, Experience and Attributes Required

- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, digital media or a related field.
- One to four years of experience in digital marketing, SEO or a communications role.
- Demonstrated experience with SEO tools (Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs or equivalent).
- Experience with Blackbaud Pushpage or a comparable email marketing platform.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for the creation of digital ads and visual assets.
- Experience with monday.com or a comparable project management platform.
- Working knowledge of GA4 and digital analytics.
- Understanding of AI search optimization and generative engine optimization (GEO) principles (asset).
- Solid written communication skills in English.
- Bilingualism (asset).

Desired profile

- Initiative, curiosity and a bias toward action.
- Comfortable working across multiple projects and audiences simultaneously.
- Collaborative and communicative, able to work with a small, fast-moving team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership over results.
- Interest in education, advancement or mission-driven organizations (asset).
