Lokanta Mediterranean is a family-run restaurant in St. Catharines looking for a reliable dishwasher who wants to grow in the kitchen.

This role is primarily dishes. We’re a small team, so we want someone who can step in where needed. We’ll train you on food prep and the cooking line so you can cover gaps and keep the kitchen moving.

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and effective kitchen environment, supporting the overall food service operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food safety, cleanliness, and teamwork, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for daily operations
- Assist with food preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff




- Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following proper sanitation procedures
- Help with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients under supervision
- Ensure all dishes and kitchen tools are stored properly after cleaning
- Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain a tidy workspace
- Support other kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow

What We’re Looking For

- Available evenings and weekends (required)
- Food Handler Certification (required)
- Have own transportation
- Reliable and on time
- Comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen
- Willing to learn and help out wherever needed
- Kitchen experience is a plus, not required

- Pay: $18/hr
- Part time
