Gemstone Lights is recognized throughout North America as a leader in the production and installation of smart home accent lighting, specific to exterior applications. We pride ourselves on having high quality products and customer service.
We seek an Electronic/Hardware Designer with strong experience in digital, analog, and mixed-signal hardware design to develop advanced lighting and IoT products. You will design PCB layouts, high-speed digital interfaces, mixed-signal circuits, and power systems. Work will include MCUs (ESP32, STM32-equivalent), memory interfaces, and embedded protocols. You’ll also ensure designs comply with Class 2 Electrical Certification and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design PCBs and circuits for lighting and IoT applications, implement high-speed digital interfaces and memory systems, optimize power circuits including CC/CV LED drivers, design control logic with protocol support, work with mixed-signal systems using MCUs, ADCs, DACs, and Op-Amps, ensure compliance with Class 2 Electrical Certification and EMC standards.
- Develop low-noise filtering (IIR, FIR), design RF systems with impedance matching and noise control, work with communication protocols: DMX, Serial, Dimmable, Wi-Fi, BLE, Sub-GHz, Thread, TCP/IP.
- Conduct prototyping, debugging, and validation, simulate circuits with SPICE tools, troubleshoot EMI/ESD, perform EMC pre-compliance testing, develop microcontroller drivers and test setups (Keil, Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF).
- Define structured workflows, document designs and test results, research new components, collaborate with manufacturing for scalable production.
- Collaborate with firmware teams for integration, lead in power electronics and PCB design,
support prototyping and ongoing product development.
